At the end of the day when you want to reach the normal, casual user who don't care about how the computer works those questions are important to us and we as developers/designers which use one great Microsoft Those are my questions to all of you think about it. ![]() If they have this on the track (or no) is it possible to implemented before september when SL5 will be ready? If it's possible to do that can somebody at Microsoft to answer when this can be implemented?ĥ. You can see how Flash did it in FF - no security warnings at all. If not, is it possible Microsoft to implement some kind of add-on for IE, FF, Chrome so the user will be gentlly pushed to the installation of the plugin?ģ. This site has a virus in it, forget about it" Those will be his minds and you are done.ġ. What the first few "Suggestions" in the browser will say: "Silverlight.exe what is", "Silverlight.exe download", "Silverlight.exe microsoft", " Silverlight.exe virus", " Silverlight.exe In most cases he will searchįor what he saw in the window Silverlight.exe. After that he starts to think what is this? Hmmmm. The user don't have time to read the instruction on the html page how to install the plugin he just click on the button and see some exe file. If the user don't have sl plugin what he/she will do? Click on some "Update" button on some very beautiful page (like this on netflix installation experience) which pops out a window which says "File download. When you are ready with your application and want to show it to the world ask yourself how many people have silverlight plugin installed on their system? I'm excluding intranet/corporate apps.ĭon't show me some marketing numbers about the penetration of the market. Silverlight is a great technology and I like it and I think that this is (should be) the feature, but I want to ask a few questions all of you especially Microsoft employees who deliver this great product. ![]()
